A. Ontario Wood is a program run by the Ministry of Natural Resources. The program provides a provides a process to certify wood and wood products as “made in Ontario.”

Wood product consumers benefit from the knowledge that every Ontario Wood certified product was produced locally, within the province. Purchasing local products helps to expand the Ontario wood industry and thereby creates jobs and contributes to the economy of Ontario. Local products are also more environmentally friendly due to reduced shipping distances and excellent forest management techniques employed by Ontario wood producers.
The Ontario wood and wood product industry benefits from increased exposure and consumer confidence in any products certified by the Ontario Wood program. The program continually promotes the Ontario Wood brand through a media including television, radio and the web.
